Based on your academic performance, you may be eligible to receive a Business Intelligence Certificate by SAS Inc., as well as a series of micro-credentials-credentials or digital badges in SQL, R, Python, Tableau, and sports analytics —signaling to employers that you’re more than ready to take the lead in a variety of analytics-focused positions.

From mastering the tools of the trade to developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills, graduates of Loyola’s information systems and data analytics program will:

• Gain skills and competencies to contribute to an organization upon entry and lead organizations through technological changes;
• Develop command of the conceptual frameworks of information systems and data analytics;
• Learn the processes of organizations and the key role that information systems play; and
• Understand responsible approaches to ethical issues in technology use by society, organizations, and individuals.

Data Management and Database Systems

IS 353
Analyze, create a logical design, and implement the physical design for a relational database system. The course includes significant exposure to SQL (Structured Query Language) in both Microsoft Access and Oracle. Students are also exposed to the challenges associated with valuing data as a digital asset and with information lifecycle management.

While traveling to an international destination, you’ll study historical, economic, political, labor, and social factors leading to the establishment of country-specific centers of IT excellence. IS 460
Learn the tools needed to make data understandable to non-technical users through data visualization coding techniques in software applications such as Tableau™, Python, and R. You’ll discover how to create various charts, histograms, heatmaps, and more.
