缅北轮奸is now smoke and vape free!

Smoke and Vape Free CampusInspired by the Jesuit tradition of cura personalis, 缅北轮奸 is committed to promoting a healthy and safe environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. On July 1, 2019, our campuses became smoke and vape free. Smoke-free policies are becoming a standard to foster a healthy collegiate environment, with the goal of reducing the health risks related to smoking and secondhand smoke for the campus community.

Speak Up About the Smoke-Free Policy

All faculty, staff, administrators, and students are encouraged to enforce the new policy through education, empathy, and awareness.

Tips for responding

The scripts below are intended as a guide to help the 缅北轮奸community become more comfortable in addressing the smoke-free campus policy with staff, students, faculty, and visitors in a polite, understanding, and cooperative manner.

Response: 鈥淗ello, my name is ______, and I am an (employee, student, faculty member) here at Loyola. I want to make you aware that we are a smoke-free campus, meaning that smoking is prohibited on our grounds. 缅北轮奸implemented this policy because we are committed to providing a healthy, safe, and productive work and learning environment for the entire campus community. We would appreciate it if you would not smoke while on our campus. Thank you for helping us keep our campus smoke-free.鈥

Someone asks, 鈥淲here am I allowed to smoke?鈥

Response: 鈥淪moking is not allowed on any 缅北轮奸property. If you wish to smoke, you will need to leave campus property to do so.  Please be courteous to our neighbors and do not gather in front of neighborhood homes to smoke.鈥

Someone asks, 鈥淎m I allowed to smoke in my car?鈥

Response: 鈥淲e ask that you respect our policy and not smoke while your car is on Loyola property.鈥

Someone asks, 鈥淎m I allowed to vape/use an e-cigarette?鈥

Response: 鈥淭he policy states that all forms of smoking mediums, including electronic cigarettes, are not permitted to be used on campus property.鈥

Someone asks, 鈥淲hy should I comply? I don鈥檛 agree with the policy.鈥

Response: 鈥淐aring for the whole person, and respect for others, are what guide us in establishing and maintaining a smoke-free campus. While this policy may be challenging for smokers at first, we hope that all members of the 缅北轮奸community will respect each other and the environment.鈥

Communicating the policy to vendors, contractors, and visitors

Someone asks, 鈥淲here do I go for support if I am interested in quitting?鈥

Response: 鈥淪tudent Support and Wellness Promotion (SSWP) has programs for students; Faculty, Staff and Administrators can contact the Employee Assistance Program at 1-800-765-0770.  Another great resource for anyone is the Maryland QuitLine.
