Career Passport
Graduate school? A service year? Law school? A job in marketing, teaching, business, publishing? The English major prepares graduates for so many possible careers that the prospects can be dizzying.
The Career Passport program is here to help. The Ãå±±ÂÖ¼éEnglish Department offers this structured, year-long series of events, reflection activities, and networking opportunities to help English majors and minors find their place in the world after graduation.
Once a month, from September through May, senior English majors will have the opportunity to engage in a series of presentations, discussions, and Q&A sessions that will show students what different careers look like, how to go about applying for grad school and jobs, and how to find your way to a fulfilling career.
The Career Passport program is structured around the career mapping process developed by Katharine Brooks, Ph.D., in You Majored in What? Mapping Your Path from Chaos to Career. Students who attend at least three sessions and complete all related activities will be awarded a Career Passport at the spring senior banquet.
